Stan the Scanner

Scanner & Certified Bad A**

Meet Stanley, no last name. Kinda like Bono or Prince – only more talented. His friends call him Stan the Scanner or Scanley, and by friends, we mean everyone at Code Four except Josh Sisk. Josh pushes his buttons a lot.

Stan was created Somewhere, and he’s been Everywhere since. He started out his career in a box, and now he goes to places outside-of-the-box. Places most scanners could only dream of.

Stan’s talents include rotating his head a full 360 degrees, scanning over 2 million points per second, and storing data across a multitude of different formats, including E57, LGS, RCP, LAS, JPG/EXR Panorama Images, and more.

He was brought onto the Code Four team because of his ability to help on-site. His scans help cut down the time spent on stitching scans together in post-production, and allow for different tagging options for geolocation and comments – making it easy-to-read data.

He’s also a huge time saver and helps reduce costs from our partner’s architects. MVP at Code Four? We think yes.

After his work is done, the Creative team uses Stan’s data through a software-based viewing platform. With this, the team can move around between scans to take measurements and review Stan’s HDR imagery. The Creative team also uses this data to produce accurate 3D models of any space. After that, the team helps our partners visualize the space with a rendering tour of the newly generated space. Pretty cool, right?
